This sounds cool! Makes me imagine being in an epic boss battle or in a big race. It's fast pasted, there's some good variety, you changed it up a little before it would get too repetitive, which I like.

There's also some good suspense, with the tension build ups and releases. As I said earlier, it would be good for a boss fight or big race.

If I had to say something about improving...hmm, I would maybe go with making some better transitions. The sudden stops kind of take away from the track and it sounds like a new song is coming in after that second of silence, instead of feeling like a flowing track.

But good job nonetheless, this is still a nice track. I just feel like it would be better if it all flowed nicely together. Keep it up!

KrisKrosNL responds:

Thanks for the review. Transitions have been difficult for me to complete correctly.

Hip hop's not really my style, but I like this. My review of it is pretty much an echo of XwaynecoltX's. You keep the track fresh, with a good variety of sounds. The mixing and mastering is clean, and I can hear everything, with nothing overpowering the other.

Good job on this, keep it up!

That is quite the arp you have going. My only issue is the frequent change of instruments with the cutoff builds, it takes away from the flow of the song. Other than that, and a little bit of repetitiveness at the end of the loop, this is pretty good.

I can't help but love all your melodies Envy. In fact, I could say I'm a bit envious of your music ;)

Envy responds:

Ohohohoh touche

This is cool. For still being new in the genre, this is much better than anything I can make, and I'm still new at it too. What program did you use, just curious?

This is very fitting for a battle. It's suspenseful, has a good build, melody, and bass. When you continue it, I think a nice synth or guitar solo could make the track fit even more. And I can't hear any mixing issues, except for maybe the high hats are a bit too loud around 0:50-ish. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product of this in the future, and I'm going to go listen to your other stuff, see if I can get some inspiration, as I'm running low lol.

Awesome job.

Troisnyx responds:

FL Studio 10, all the way through. Admittedly, I've had trouble continuing after where this piece ends (I was thinking of a semi-orchestral end, but still keeping the EDM foundations).

Thanks for pointing it out -- now that I take a listen, the hi-hats (and the snare roll) are LOUD. Glad that you listened!

Yes, yes, yes, and yes! I love this! Definitely worth the wait. So energetic, seems like it would be in an epic action movie. Easy to want to dance to. The mixing is crisp. I'm a little jealous, I wish I could make epic stuff like this, but I don't have enough of an attention span to spend so much time on one piece :P

Anyways, as I already said, this is epic. Can't help but give you 5 stars, favorite and download the song. Would become a fan, but I already am one lol. Keep it up man.

Aw, shame you're not going to upload to newgrounds anymore. I was really starting to enjoy your music on here, and I'm sure you'll keep making good music from here on. Good luck, wherever you go from here man.

On the topic of this track, I like it, very fitting with the title. I actually can't find anything to critique with it.

slipperyslopes responds:

Thanks a lot. :) yeah... It's just my last year in highschool and i want to focus on some other things... And i'm hoping for a fresh start somewhere else. :) thanks for your support!

I like this, it's fun. And it's better than anything I can ever make in an hour and a half lol

Anyways, I can't find much to critique on this, except for the fact that I think you should've gone farther on this, and that it sounds very similar to the theme from The Sims. Otherwise great job on it :)

This is sweet. I love dubstep songs that are chill like this and do go overboard with the wubwub. My only issue is that it's a little too repetitive right now, so maybe add a new melody or tweak some parameters to keep the track fresh, but still keeping the track flowing.

SirSirius responds:

Thanks a lot for your review! :)

Repetitiveness is definitely something I will work on!

This is pretty good. I'm not really an expert with DnB, or with most electronic music and its production, but if I had to give any constructive criticism, I would say that I would go farther with the half-time feel part at 1:10 (is that the Amen Break variant? I'm not sure), I think that would be cool to have it build up back to the original speed. It started at a good time, and if you went farther with it, it would make for a good building part.

But that's me, and I am fairly clueless when it comes to Drum N Bass music, as I tend to stick to trance, so I can't give you much more help with criticism. Sorry ^^;
Keep it up though, it sounds good so far!

Enveri responds:

I'm not really an expert with DnB either, hence the need for feedback. I like the slow down too, and I agree that it should be longer (thus, it will be). However, what I meant by Amen Break was the drum beat in the background (the specifics of what exactly it is can probably be found on Wikipedia).

Thanks for the help DlynMatrix!

I'm an amateur Instrumental EDM composer from Minnesota, and my genre is mainly Trance. I use FL Studio, play acoustic guitar and electric bass, and I sing as well. I'm the other half of the group Equilibria.
