Dylnmatrix's News

Posted by Dylnmatrix - November 8th, 2015

Man, it's about time I updated my news post. So, how're you guys doing?

On my end, I've been good. The past 7 months have been busy due to my job at Cedar Point taking over my life, but music got done, it got released, and I never properly advertised it.

First things first, Infinite Realms has been released! Not only is it available on Bandcamp, it's also available on iTunes, Google Play, and Spotify! On top of that, I've also uploaded most of the tracks here on Newgrounds! Unfortunately, I can't upload the Ionic Force tracks off of the EP due to me not being him and Newgrounds' rules, but the EP is streamable off of Bandcamp, so not too much to worry about there. Here's the playlist of all of my tracks alongside the Equilibria tracks.

Next, I've got a track that I've been working on for a while now. You may recognize it from the WIP I uploaded a few months ago, and now it's finally finished as of a few days ago. I present Hyperresonance, a harder trance track of mine, with more focus on the musical structure of the track while staying within the realms of EDM at the same time.

This track started out as just some doodling to look at the UI improvements from FL 11 to 12, and slowly evolved throughout the summer, with me gaining inspiration from Tales of the Abyss alongside other smaller things, and just general boredom making me feel like writing more. It was also the in-between track that I worked on to get my mind off of the new Equilibria track that's in the works, which has hit quite a few snags due to the complexity of the track.

Anyways, with that I'm pretty much done. This should last you guys a while until I finish some new music, which hopefully won't be too long this time. Enjoy!

...and you want to post it immediately, but you can't because you want to have some exclusive tracks for your upcoming EP.

On that note, Blood Moon is finished. All it needs is mixing and mastering. Blood Moon is to be the 9th track on the EP and is the third and final(?) Equilibria track on there right after Unsustainable. It is a metal-EDM hybrid midtempo track that really has a mind of its own. It's a lot different than our other stuff and we really hope you guys enjoy it when it comes out!

Hey guys, just wanted to make a quick update here about Unsustainable. I also wanted to thank the mods for putting Unsustainable on the Front Page of Newgrounds on the day of release. I actually joked to myself when I uploaded it that maybe it could get front-paged and, lo and behold, it did.

After a bit of waiting, and completely forgetting to make this post, Unsustainable is now available on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, Amazon Music and many other platforms that would take a long time to list. Unsustainable is also 'Shazam-able', so you can find the links that way or just use the links below.

In production since Double-Edge's release, Unsustainable is Equilibria's spiritual successor to Entropy, the first track that Ionic Force and I ever produced as a duo back in July 2013.

We took everything we loved from the original and cranked it all up to 11, pouring our hearts out making it. Being a remake of an old track of ours, this project is special to us and we took great care in making it the best it could be. Karl and I had tons of fun making this, particularly as we got to the climax of the track, and we hope you have fun listening to it.

The complextro basses await your ears here on NG, Soundcloud, and Bandcamp.

Edit: Wow, I did not expect for this to be frontpaged at all. Thank you!

Quite a few updates here for you guys.

Since the latest update to the Audio Portal by the staff, giving us the ability to upload and disable downloads, I've now decided to start uploading music here again. With that said, the first thing I give you guys is the newest single from Equilibria, Nebula! Nebula is the 6th track of Equilibria's Infinite Realms project. The track is Dubstep, infused with elements from Trance, DnB, Electro and Complextro. It's available for streaming here on Newgrounds, on Youtube, Soundcloud and Bandcamp at the moment.

With the release of Nebula and the wait for Infinite Realms to release, me and Karl have decided to open up a Patreon campaign. In case you don't know what Patreon is, Patreon is not much different from Kickstarter. Like Kickstarter, patrons can donate an amount of their choosing to artists they enjoy, like us. By donating, patrons will get exclusive first looks at tracks that we are currently working on (got a special VIP Mix in the works in case you're wondering *wink*wink*), and you'd also get first dibs on any and all the tracks we release before we release them to the public.

Your money would help go towards getting newer VSTs and keeping up to date with each other, getting better equipment, along with living expenses if we decide to get a place together in the future.

In more Equilibria news, we now have a Facebook fan page!  There's not much to it now, but with the EP coming up, it's sure to get really busy come summer time with all of our updates.

On the Dylnmatrix side of the spectrum, I've set up my Bandcamp page so that you can subscribe for a low amount per month to get, much like Equilibria's Patreon, exclusive first access to all my tracks when I release them. When you subscribe, you instantly get my entire backlog for free and when I update, it's instantly available to stream on Bandcamp mobile, whereas you have to purchase the track to stream a track on mobile without a subscription. You'll also get exclusive access to a feed where I'll be posting about new releases, EPs and the like, along with sheet music that I make when I'm bored for my music. I'll also be happy to commission doodles for subscribers who need a starting point for their own music.

Yo!

If you've been following my Soundcloud for a while you may have noticed I uploaded something titled "Something in a thing Equilibria has been working on the past couple of days" with only audio of some strings playing. Well, I've now taken that down and uploaded a legitimate preview/teaser of the WIP track.

You can listen here: https://soundcloud.com/dylnmatrix/equilibria-nebula-preview

I also made an rambling update on my blog/website involving the EP and tracklist: http://dmmusicarchive.tumblr.com/post/107577229740/in-case-anyone-was-wondering-here-is-the-current

And with that I'm out of things to say. Enjoy the slightly more satisfying teaser of Nebula!

Hey guys!

So you may be wondering why there was no EP this summer. Well, both me and Ionic Force have pretty demanding jobs (amusement park and retail) and we both were really busy with school, so music became pretty low on our personal priority lists, as much as we wanted to work on it.

Because of these issues, we've moved the release of the EP to sometime late next year.

But while you wait, I do want to give you some taste of the EP so here's one of my own originals going on the EP, entitled Solar Flare, with some of my traditional trance alongside some Complextro elements in the end.

Enjoy!

Happy late 4th of July everybody! Thought I'd give you guys some more news on what's going on in regards to the EP.

So, I'm working at Valleyfair again this summer, and the internet at the employee housing sucks, and my wifi hotspot has been used up for the month, so it's been difficult to get work done with Ionic Force. But, yesterday was his birthday and I had the day off, so I came home and we had a big music session for the first time since January, got a lot done, IF got a new pair of studio monitoring headphones (Sennheiser HD280s I believe, could be wrong) and we now have our eyes set on a pair of studio monitors that we want.

One of the things we got started on was getting more structure to our main Equilibria track, still untitled, but you would recognize it fairly well since we used the scores from the "Just some doodles" dubstep loop I uploaded. But it's also different at the same time.

We also got started on a track called Unsustainable, which is a special track we've been planning since we released it's brother, Entropy.

You can hear what we got so far in it as of yesterday (July 5th) night here: https://soundcloud.com/ionicforce/unsustainable-original-mix-entropy-remake

In other news, Final Frontier is nearly finished, I just need to figure out some mixing issues it has and fix the lead, as I now own things that could make it better. Also, the preview I had up (the one from the last news post) is now down, so you'll now have to wait until we release the EP to hear the final product.

Hey guys! It's about high time I did an official announcement for this.

So over the past few months Equilibria's been having some tracks cooking up for something very special. We're going to be releasing an EP, with a mix of Trance, Electro House, Complextro and other genres, later this summer! While Equilibria itself will only have one original, me and Ionic Force have cooked up some goodies on our own.

Take this for example: https://soundcloud.com/dylnmatrix/final-frontier-original-mix-wip

Entitled Final Frontier, this is going to be the closer to the EP, and is something very new to me. I typically have left the Electro stuff to Ionic Force, but I took a stab at it for the sake of the EP. Note that the track is still in progress. While writing this I ended up fusing a whole bunch of genres together at 140bpm and I'm liking where it's going.

Headlining the EP will be Ionic Force's Infinite Realms, which is a Complextro and Trance mix. With plenty of bass work and melodies to spare, you won't be disappointed.

We also will be having a special guest appearance by WilLTEKNYx, who collaborated with Ionic Force on their track Hot Curry (standing title, to be renamed).

We'll be keeping you guys updated as best we can as Infinite Realms comes closer to releasing later this summer!

Got a question.

Should I continue uploading my remasters of old tracks here as new projects, or should I just update the old projects?

I just finished remastering Zoltage and that already has 2 uploads, the original and the first remaster, which I don't really consider a remaster now.

If I updated the project for the first remaster, then I would let you know with a news post, but honestly who reads these and goes to listen to an updated track that's been up for a while? I tend to get more results with uploading a new project, but I have a feeling that may annoy some people, and I get almost zero feedback with old tracks being updated.

I'm also going to continue remastering old tracks that I feel deserve it throughout the year in between new tracks and working on a possible summer EP.
