So, FL Studio 11 came out and the demos that came with it have some great bass work (in my opinion) and I was wondering if you guys could help me find some good tutorials on how to make basses like that in a(n) Electro House/Complextro progression. Most of the tutorials I find either use Massive only for the bass (which I just don't have the money to get right now), or they just show how to make the bass in Sytrus, without showing how to put it into a progression.

If you guys don't understand what I'm asking for, I want to make a complextro/electro house track and I have no idea how to work with the bass and drums. I want to make a song either like this (I'm going to check Seamless' tutorials out later today, but if you know better tutorials, help me out and let me know) or like this.

I'm not sure if you can put links in comments, but if you can, great. If you can't, just PM me the links. I'm not saying you have to go searching through thousands of tutorials, and I'm not forcing you to, but I'd be really grateful if you guys could help me out, especially if you've found good tutorials on either Youtube or any video streaming site. Thanks in advance guys!

Also, in case you guys didn't know: I use FL Studio (the Signature Bundle), and own Z3TA+ 2, Sylenth1, and reFX Nexus 2. I also have Gross Beat and dblueGlitch, so if that helps narrow down the results, awesome.

I'm stuck. Musically.

For the past couple weeks I've been trying to write some new songs in a different style, but no matter what happens, I end up reverting back to my old style. Like, I'll write something that sounds cool, then, one day when I'm bored, I'll end up writing that same melody in my old style, just to see what it sounds like, I end up really liking it, and it sticks. I've only been writing music for a year, I can't already be at my 'musical plateau' can I?

Also, I'm having trouble writing short songs now. My songs always end up being over 5 minutes by the time I feel satisfied.

Yadda, yadda, yadda...complain, complain, complain...ak;ldsnvapeinvapeniv

I hope my friend that I'm going to be seeing today for music can help me get over this.

Sorry I've been so dead. I've just had a LOT of trouble being productive lately and I've been trying to get a job.

Somewhat.

Been suffering from depression, due to general loneliness and a recent loss in my family. All that just sucks away my inspiration, preventing me from continuing much or starting anything new.

But, I managed to start and finish one song over the week I was out of town for the funeral. I call it "Not Over Yet." (Horrible title, I know.)

I wanted to try and tell a story with it, and I feel like I succeeded in telling that story in the 7 minutes and 15 seconds of the song. I'm not going to tell you the story, as I want to hear other's interpretations before I tell the true story behind it. All I'll say is this: The song is almost constantly changing. It's rare that two different parts of the song are exactly alike. I may have used the same patterns, but I still managed to keep it mostly unique all the way through, I hope.

Thought I'd update you guys again, seeing as I have some new stuff to show you. If you didn't notice, I started writing a song for my girlfriend as part of my present to her. Well I finished it (http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/516003) and my girlfriend said she loved it. I hope you guys do too.
